Thunderstorm and heavy rain warning in 8 states
MetMalaysia has informed that it is expected to occur in Johor, Kedah, Perak, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Sabah this afternoon.
KUALA LUMPUR: Thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected to continue in eight states until 4 p.m. today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
In a warning issued at 1:55 p.m. earlier, MetMalaysia informed that thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are forecast across Johor and in several areas of Kedah (Langkawi) and Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, and Manjung).
The same weather conditions are also expected in Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu, Dungun, and Kemaman) and Pahang (Jerantut, Bentong, and Rompin).
Additionally, MetMalaysia forecasts thunderstorms and heavy rain in several areas of Selangor, including Klang, Kuala Langat, and Hulu Langat, as well as in Negeri Sembilan, covering Jelebu, Seremban, and Kuala Pilah.
In Sabah, similar weather conditions are expected in the interior areas, including Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, and Nabawan; in the West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, and Kota Belud); Tawau (Tawau and Lahad Datu); Sandakan (Tongod, Kinabatangan, and Sandakan); and Kudat (Kota Marudu and Kudat).
